The last few weeks have seen more Microsoft BI-related announcements in a short time than I can ever remember before. Some of them I’ve blogged about; most I’ve at least tweeted. Even then I’m not sure everything has been covered, and because new stuff is coming thick and fast (custom regions in Power Map! DirectQuery/ROLAP in the cloud with Power BI connecting to Azure SQL Database!) it’s hardly worth trying. However, I do think this is as good a point as any to work out what I think about all this activity and where Microsoft is heading.
